1851 Mounted Trousers

#5145 M-1851 US Army Enlisted Trousers for Mounted Troops

are fly front and have side seam front pockets and split back waistband with cord tie. There are no back pockets on trousers from this era and no back yoke. A 1" higher rise than today's blue jeans is featured. Mounted troops were issued trousers with a reinforced inseam (double layer of wool) for riding. Trousers should be worn quite loose.

Pewter buttons for fly and suspenders are supplied. The double button front is standard for use with our #1907 suspenders.

The 1851 Enlisted Trousers are made using our 20 ounce Sky Blue field service Wool. In 1851 all enlisted troops, including privates, had a 1/8” cord down the out seam in the color of their branch of service.
