Known for Quality Historical Men's Military Uniforms and Civilian Clothing Reproductions- Since 1975
#1603- 1840 to 1880 CIVILIAN GREATCOATis cut similar to the military foot soldier style except two front pockets have been added and a rolling collar is featured. The single cape does not have any buttons on it as it is mainly used as a "hood" during inclement weather. Standard cape length is to the elbow. An optional cuff length or fingertip length cape is available at extra cost. Typically, collar and pocket tops match the coat wool, however a contrasting color wool can be added- see photos at left. The heavier military wools (except dark blue and sky blue) are used in these coats. Our Civilian Greatcoat has 5 cloth-covered buttons on the front and two in back on the adjusting belts. There are no buttons on the cape. A heavy cotton half lining to just below the waist is featured. For the ultimate in warmth, a wool half body lining is available at extra cost. Made in the USA!Most coats shown here are custom made. Please allow 5-6 for delivery. Because custom orders are not returnable, please click on the measurements page and submit your measurements when you order. Click here to see Civilian Greatcoats that are in stock! |
