In 1884, Marines were issued the Brown Duck canvas coat for fatigue duty. Same pattern as the Army except for a few minor changes. 10 ounce duck is featured. The blouse has a rolling collar and is unlined with two exterior patch pockets. Six brass Marine buttons close the front. All seams are flat-felled. In 1894, White Cotton Duck was specified and the brown duck was dropped.
