#7222 M-1872 ENLISTED FOOT DRESS COAT- (for Infantry, Heavy Artillery, Ordnance and Hospital Stewards)Made using our quality 16 oz deluxe dark blue wool with a natural corset jean body lining. The Foot soldier's dress coat features a longer skirt and different back trim style than the Mounted services dress coat. In 1872, for all branches except Engineers, the piping was to match the branch color. Engineers had red trim with White Piping. In 1873, Hospital and Ordnance Dress Coats received White Piping also. Skirt length is about 2" shorter than earlier Civil War era Frockcoats. Our Skirt is left raw as per originals. Rank chevrons and Service Stripes are available below.
