M-1861 FORAGE CAP-The
US forage cap pattern of 1861 (made famous by General Irwin McDowell)
replaced the Model 1858. It features the round sloping crescent shaped leather brim, and shares the
same quality construction as the above pattern of 1858 cap. The brass insignia
shown is not included with this hat. It can be order when you

This
cap was often
called the "Bummer’s cap", because so many of General Sherman’s men wore
them on the March to the Sea.

Med Grey. It features the round sloping (crescent
shaped) leather brim, leather sweatband and chin strap with out the brass
