The 1846 Enlisted Mounted Artillery Dress Coat.

 

 

#4615 M-1846 Enlisted Mounted Artillery Dresscoat

is a blending of the Dragoon and earlier Foot Artillery coat styles. Coat features our 20 oz Dark Blue Wool as standard. The 3" high collar is red wool with yellow mohair lace surround and closes completely in front. Sgts and Staff Sgts get two lace loops on the collar.

Other features include, tube style sleeves with pointed faced cuff with lace edge and small buttons. US Eagle "A" are supplied for you to sew on. Machine stitched buttonholes. Shoulder scales shown are purchased separately. Red cotton front lining, black cotton in back with natural cotton sleeve lining. Red wool skirt turnbacks and tail lining. Skirt slash is trimmed with red piping and has 3 yellow lace loops with buttons. Made in USA!

From 1832-1851, Musician's dresscoats were red wool with white trim.
