1852 US Naval Officer Tailcoat

1852 US Naval Captain's Full Dress Tailcoat

#5255 The 1852 US Naval Officer's Dress Tailcoat

The Full Dress Naval Officer's double breasted Tailcoat was used from 1852 thru 1920 with modifications. Due to it's cost, it was usually dispensed with during the War. Our deluxe 16 oz wool broadcloth is standard. Fully Lined in white. The collar features gold lace sized according to rank. For ranks above Master the Sleeves have progressive rows of gold lace (with buttons). Master's sleeves have horizontal buttons but no lace.

The coat front has two rows of 9 large US Naval buttons equally spaced in each row. There are four large buttons on the back of the coat with horizontal pockets on the back. Captain's white piped pocket flaps have gold lace. Pocket flaps for other ranks are without gold lace.  Naval Epaulets are always worn with this coat. Click to See or Order Naval Epaulets.
