Documentation has surfaced that indicates Tucker's Naval Battalion consisting of Sailors and Marines captured at the Sayler's Creek (Virginia) Battle in 1865 were wearing typical CS Army Richmond Depot clothing. We offer the Richmond Depot 3 style here. The Richmond Depot jacket features a 6-piece body, 2-piece sleeves and typically a 9-button front. It is lined with natural cotton and has an inside left breast pocket. Bottom of jacket has a sharp corner (square cut).
The RD 3 style jacket drops the trim colors, shoulder straps and belt loops found on earlier versions of this jacket. Confederate Letter “M” are supplied for the Marines but not sewn on. Other buttons are available at extra cost. Buttonholes, whether machine-sewn or hand-sewn, are done in a color appropriate to the fabric color. Chevrons (if needed) are sewn to the sleeves while we are making the jacket. Made in the USA!
