'73 Hospital Steward Dresscoat

The 1873 Dress coat for Hospital Steward. Ordnance Sergeant would have crimson trim replacing the Emerald Green and the Ordnance Sergeant's chevrons in place of the Hospital Steward half chevron.

#7323 M-1873 ENLISTED FOOT DRESS COAT- for Hospital Stewards, Ordnance and Engineers.

In 1873, the US Army Uniform Board improved the look of the Dress Coat for the above three service branches by changing the piping to white from the branch of service color previously used in 1872. This greatly enhanced the look of these coats but increased the cost because piping was added in many places where it wasn't used before.

Our reproduction is made using our high quality 16 oz deluxe dark blue wool with a natural corset jean body lining. Same basic design as the 1872 Foot style Dress coat but the white piping has been used.

Made in the USA!
