are made from our quality 20 ounce field service sky blue wool, with top opening pockets and wide waistband with rear cord tie for adjustment on M-1872 model trousers and with belt and buckle back on M-1873 model trousers.
Both models feature the double layered inseam reinforcement piece for riding and have the double button front closure. Twelve tin paperback buttons are supplied. An optional right side Watch Pocket is available. Made in the USA!
The 1872 US Army Uniform Regulations stated that Line Officers (Artillery, Cavalry and Infantry) were to wear Sky Blue trousers. Generals and Staff Officers continued to wear Dark Blue trousers matching their uniform coats. However, the previously worn 1/8" gold welt worn by Staff Officers was deleted completely. From 1872 thru 1900, these officers trousers were to be plain- without stripe or pipe.
