#8440
M-1884 FOOT TROUSERS
(scroll
down for mounted style) With the trousers adopted in 1884, the
Army wanted to use up the last remaining stocks of Civil War era sky blue wool kersey.
So, the model 1884
Trousers have the waistband
going back to the 1-3/4” width, and now with side seam pockets, one rear hip pocket
on the right has been added, and back belts with buckle for adjustment. In
this model year, the trouser legs started a slight "bell bottom
effect". Also 11 black metal buttons are
supplied but not sewn on.
Made in the USA! The
Foot style trousers may be worn by Cavalry soldiers when not riding a
horse.
